Vernon Williams is a very good friend of mine that I have hung out with many times. Vernon is native New Yorker, and is shocked as I am at the horrible events of today. Here he is posing directly in front; and you can see the trademark pattern that laced the exteriors of the buildings, that now are just a jumble heap of steel.

Vernon greeted me when I first got here with piles of information to find my way around the city and it was just so nice to feel that coming here not knowing what or where anything was. Vernon works directly across in Brooklyn, and was one of the group of my friends I was worried about, not knowing if he went to a meeting in the area or not. But Vernon is safe! Whew!
